When I first started volunteering at Apple, a client called desperate to get an appointment. Her new son was crying in the background, and her voice sounded so fragile. I couldn’t fit her in that day, but I could later in the week. Before hanging up, her voice cracked and said, “I knew doing this by myself would be hard. But I didn’t think it would be this hard.” That exchange is a core memory for me. When we started to have kids, it was hard.The lack of sleep, trouble breastfeeding, and the witching hours were crushing—and I had a husband and family in town to help! Doing it by myself?? Almost impossible. I think about that client a lot. That’s why we are raising money for Apple PCC. Their Earn While You Learn program equips clients for parenthood and pairs them with a supportive mentor. They earn “Apple Bucks” to spend in the store for baby items like diapers, baby clothes, baby furniture, and formula FREE OF CHARGE. Would you consider partnering with us this year?
